Privacy

Student names and lesson notes you enter are personal to you and your students, and we treat them as private user content.

Your data is stored in our database, scoped to your account, and encrypted in transit. We do not sell, share, or transmit student names or note contents to analytics tools or third parties, and we do not include them in application logs.

We use Sentry to capture application errors. Error logs include a unique anonymous user identifier so we can correlate problems with the user who experienced them; they do not include your email address or note contents.

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. Plausible is privacy-respecting: it does not use cookies, does not track you across domains, and does not store your IP address. The data captured is anonymous and aggregated.

FERPA may apply to certain educational agencies receiving U.S. Department of Education funds. Many independent CFIs may not be directly covered, but we still treat student training data with FERPA-like care.
